When travelling, walk more. Try the local mass transport for the authentic experience. It’s also good for the environment.
Most cities and tourist hotspots have guided or self-guided walking tour designed to let tourists explore on foot leisurely and get more by immersing in the neighbourhood. Short car journeys are more polluting than longer ones due to the higher energy requirement to start up an engine. A cold engine uses almost twice as much fuel as a warmer one.
Even if you are not travelling, take a walk for good health!
