The theme of the month: 'Be part of the solution'

Week4Why is energy efficiency important in combating climate change?
2.1.1 – Energy use, carbon emissions and climate change

The burning of fossil fuels accounts for about three-quarters of the carbon emissions from human sources in the last 20 years.

Atmospheric levels of several greenhouse gases have increased by about 25% since large-scale industrialization began around 150 years ago.

These emissions arise primarily from human energy requirements, including the use of coal, natural gas and petroleum for transportation, industrial, residential and commercial purposes.
